Bourne Leisure, Cuerden Leisure and Embed Playsafe Enter Debit Card System Deal
London UK – February 2011 – EMBED Playsafe, a leading provider of machine and facility management systems
and payment technologies for Leisure, Entertainment and Gaming, announces that is has reached agreement with Cuerden
Leisure to implement its Debit Card System technology into a large amusement facility within Bourne Leisure’s UK Holiday
Park operations.
Embed Playsafe systems will be installed at the location to provide Point–of–Sale, cashless amusement operation,
prize redemption management and general machine management. The facility will feature over one hundred games fitted with
Embed’s latest Color–Glo HD Debit Card readers. The installation will be the first true amusement debit card system
in the UK and follows recent deals for similar systems in Holland and Belgium.
Announcing the deal, Embed Playsafe’s UK MD David Stenning stated “Our products are now very much geared towards
driving revenue growth rather than just protecting revenue. We started this process with our player tracking and loyalty systems
which have been very successful. Now with the Embed cashless systems, our customers can put together bundle packages and do
promotional things like introduce price structures that are infinitely more flexible and not tied to coin increments.”
Kevin Scott of Cuerden Leisure has welcomed the initiative and said “Like any sector of industry we’ve got to look at
new ways of moving the business on. We have a great partnership with Bourne who are the leaders in leisure. It’s
only natural we would want to explore this opportunity with them.”
Bourne Leisure’s Ronnie Crier responded by saying “The only way that we can remain as leaders in the industry is by
looking for new ideas and innovations, and we feel that this is a big opportunity.”
